KY State Senator John Schickel Delivers State of Commonwealth Address

Join the Rotary Club of Florence, serving all of Boone County (@FlorenceRotary), on Monday, May 16, 2022, at noon as State Senator John Schickel delivers his State of Commonwealth Address.
Senator Schickel represents the 11th District in Boone County.
He has a 45-year career as a State Senator serving on the Judiciary Committee, as a corrections administrator, law enforcement officer, and teacher.
Senator Schickel headed the U.S. Marshall’s Service in the Eastern District of Kentucky, a position he was appointed to by President George W. Bush.
He has served as an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University in their justice studies program, where he was also on their curriculum advisory committee. He is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He is the recipient of numerous professional awards, including an award from the Innocence Project for his work on post-conviction DNA evidence.
Schickel serves as chair of the Senate Licensing and Occupations Committee. He serves as a member of the Senate Standing Committees on Judiciary, Banking and Insurance, Natural Resources and Energy, and is a liaison member of the Budget Review Subcommittee on Justice and Judiciary.
